Twelve-year-old shot, in critical condition
LAKE CHARLES, LA — On July 27 the Lake Charles Police Department responded to Lake Charles Memorial Hospital in reference to a shooting.
The arriving officers learned that the victim was a 12-year-old boy who was shot once.
During the investigation police found that the suspect, a 16-year-old Lake Charles teenager, shot the victim while at the suspect’s residence in the 1600 block of 14th Street.
After the shooting the suspect transported the victim to Memorial Hospital. The victim is listed in critical condition.
Police arrested the 16-year-old, whose name cannot be released, for aggravated battery and illegal use of dangerous instrumentality and booked him into the Juvenile Detention Center.
