Two arrested in connection with theft at Episcopal School of Acadiana

On February 13, 2013, Deputies with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a burglary and theft complaint of approximately $18,000.00 worth of lawn equipment at the Episcopal School of Acadiana, located off of Smede Highway in St. Martinville, La.

St. Martin Parish Deputies and Investigators were able to locate approximately 95 percent of the stolen items after securing a search warrant for a residence located at a home on Duchamp Road. The occupant of the residence, Mr. Sean Snelson, 29, of Broussard, was placed under arrest and booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center for Burglary and Theft over $1500.00.

On February 14, 2013, Investigators served an Arrest Warrant at the residence of Mr. Brandon Labiche, 28, of St. Martinville. Evidence was also located at Mr. Labiche’s residence further indicating his involvement of the theft and burglary at the school.

Mr. Labiche was arrested without incident and booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center on the following charges:

Burglary and theft over $1500.00.

All of the property that was recovered by the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office was returned to the Episcopal School of Acadiana.
