Two Lafayette teens arrested for armed robbery, kidnapping

Two teens are behind bars for allegedly robbing a man while he was washing his car.

The Lafayette Police Department reports that the incident occurred on Saturday, Nov. 24. We’re told the victim at a location in the 800 block of North Pierce Street shortly before 11:00 p.m. The victim told police that two men approached him, pulled out a gun, then demanded all of his money.

The suspects allegedly stole the victim’s wallet and jewelry. Officials say the suspects then forced the victim to drive them in his vehicle to the intersection of Martin Luther King Drive and Patterson. The victim was then instructed to get out of the car and the two suspects took off in his vehicle.

Shortly thereafter the suspects were pulled over by a police officer. They were located at the intersection of St. Antoine and West Gilman.

Rondell Williams, 18, and Gary Broussard, Jr., 17, were both located in the vehicle. They were both arrested and charged with Armed Robbery, Aggravated Kidnapping, and Possession of a Stolen Firearm.

The victim was not injured in the incident.
