Two-year-old dies after crash caused by intoxicated driver
LAFAYETTE, LA — UPDATE: Two-year-old Kylan Jackson of Opelousas died from his injuries at a Baton Rouge hospital.
Traffic Investigators have issued an arrest warrant for Vehicular Homicide for the arrest of Jamuse Broussard. The Vehicular Homicide charge replaces 1 count of the Vehicular Negligent Injury charge.

ORIGINAL: An alleged intoxicated driver was arrested for causing a crash that sent a 2-year-old and an adult to the hospital in critical condition.
The Lafayette Police Department reports that the crash happened shortly before 11:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 16 at the intersection of Moss Street and Van Buren Drive. We’re told a vehicle being driven by Jamuse Broussard, 23, of Lafayette, attempted to turn left and collided with another vehicle.
Officials say a 33-year-old male and his 2-year-old passenger were rushed to a local hospital in critical condition.
Broussard was arrested and charged with OWI, Driving Under Suspension, Failure to Yield While Turing Left and two counts of vehicular Negligent Injury.
