UL President Dr. Savoie and City-Parish President Joey Durel led a ribbon cutting ceremony today dedicating the new bike lanes along St. Mary, something that would not have happened without the cooperation of the university and Lafayette Consolidated Government.

"Student cooperation and student ideas that come into such a project like the bike lanes definitely does give a good vibe of all the school spirit and the community spirit that we have," says David Neef, SGA president at UL.

The student body has just voted to double parking fees around the campus, which will be a major help in the renovations for the university's master plan.
