Students walking into fall semester with pains of growth
LAFAYETE (KADN) — Classes haven't started yet over at UL, but it's still pretty busy around campus with multiple construction projects in the works.
"If you take a rock and throw it one-hundred feet you're going to hit a different construction project every time, and we've got work going on all over campus," says Bill Crist, Director of Facilities Management at UL.
The projects that are the most noticeable are the Student Union project, the Fletcher Hall project, and the parking tower next to Fletcher, all scheduled to be finished by the end of this year.
"Everything is moving at a real rapid pace, but it's all moving along in good order," says Crist.
Parts of the student union are almost done with more than 130,000 square feet to work with, crews are working from one side of the building to the other.
"It'll be nice cause it's such a major project and it's in the center of campus. It really has caused students to have to divert their walking paths and so forth around it so it's really when it's done. It's going to be such a blessing for everybody involved," says Crist.
