UL Student Union project thirty-five percent complete
Projected completion date around the end of 2014
LAFAYETTE, LA (KADN) — The new student union project is now thirty-five percent complete with the steel structure in place. The size of the building is surprising many passing through campus. The new building will be 170,000 square feet, which is fifty-thousand square feet larger than the original.
"It's going to change the face of the campus along with the housing project right next to it. Next year people are going to be amazed at what the campus is going to shape up to be," says William Crist, director of facility management at UL.
Construction is on schedule with some brick exterior starting to be installed and the roof deck going in. The scheduled completion date for the new facility is the end of 2014.
