The school bells rang again today in Lafayette. The Fall Semester has started up over at the UL Lafayette campus. Although the official number of students for the new semester won't be released for a few weeks, you can count on about 17,000 Ragin Cajun's back at school.

This morning was a busy but confused time for the first time freshman trying to find their way around the UL campus.

But to the rescue were many famous comic book superhero characters like Batman, Captain America, Spiderman and other's giving out helpful directions to make the first day on campus go a little easier.

"Sometimes students are new, especially freshmen. Sometimes they just need to know where to go. So we are out here giving directions, letting them know where to go and just trying to save the day a little bit."

"We are from the Baptist Collegiate Ministry, the BCM, right over there on Johnston Street. We are out here just trying to have a good time and give some students a little perk in their day. Cause I'm sure they are still waking up and they need a little thing to cheer them up."

The start of fall semester had nothing to do with Fall temperatures as the hot/humid temps hit the 90's today and the Baptist Collegiate Ministry upperclassmen wearing the super hero costumes felt every bit of the heat but they made it much easier for the students back on campus to get to their class on time.
