A local hospital is in serious jeopardy and facing another possible budget cut. The University Medical Center has suffered several budget cuts in the past.
Now they face a possible 34.5 % budget reduction which could cripple the hospital.
The center handles about 250 thousand outpatient visits a year, about 150 cancer treatments a month, and an additional 1200 aids patients.
With the proposed cut a lot of people wonder what it could mean for health care in Acadiana.
The board is scheduled to meet soon to discuss the proposed cut.
