UPDATE: Tyler father who cut son with lawn mower blade identified

Tyler police are on the scene of an alleged assault involving a lawn mower blade Wednesday morning.

The aggravated assault took place at Borden Milk Products on West Front Street.

The Tyler Police Department Crime Scene Unit was called to the scene after officers found blood at the site.

Officials tell KETK a father and son were cutting the grass around 7:40 a.m. when they beg to argue. That's when the father cut his son with a lawn mower blade on his arm and the son retaliated, assaulting his dad.

It's unclear if the father was injured. The son was taken to a local hospital where his current condition unknown.

The son was later identified as Kyan Campbell, 26, of Tyler. The father, who was arrested at the scene for aggravated assault family violence, has been identified as Darron Campbell, 51, of Tyler.

Campbell was booked into the Smith County Jail. His bond has not been set.
