Update on UL's Student Union Renovations
In demolition stages
Lafayette, LA (KADN) — We are now months into UL's new Student Union project. The project is now in it's demolition stages. UL's Director of Facility Management says tearing down is not as affected by weather as new construction would be, so this rainy weather we have been enduring has not affected progress at all. So what are the next steps for the construction project?
"Their going to be clearing all of that out which is going to take quite a while to do, and then they'll be pouring the new slabs and starting the rack of steel after that. Within the next month or so you should start to see some things, a new building coming up," says William "Bill" Crist, Director of Facility Management at UL.
Crist says this is a two year project that requires 700 days of construction, so the project is looking at coming to full fruition October of 2014.
