BATON ROUGE, LA — The Baton Rouge Police Department is investigating the alleged abduction and rape of a Baton Rouge woman. The incident was reported around 12:30 this afternoon.
Officials tell NBC33 News that the woman was abducted from the parking lot of the Bone and Joint Clinic located on Hennessy Blvd, which is near Essen Lane. We’re told the woman said she a man approached her with a gun and forced her into a pickup truck. She says the suspect then took her to Iberville parish and raped her.
The suspect then drove the woman back to Baton Rouge and dropped her off on LSU’s campus near the Nicholson area. The man was last seen driving the red Chevy 4D Z71 pickup truck.
The LSU Police Department issued an alert to just before 12:30 p.m.
“We sent the text out because the last direction was headed toward campus,” Cpt. Cory Lalonde, LSU Police Department, explained. “We felt that the best thing to do was to alert those in the area that the incident had happened. We just want to make sure the campus community is aware of it.”
The suspect is described as a white male who is roughly 40 years old. He was last seen driving northbound on Nicholson.
