Woman arrested for harboring Shawn Scott after Mother’s Day shooting; 7 total arrests
NEW ORLEANS, LA — Another woman has been arrested for allegedly withholding information regarding the location of the Mother’s Day shooting suspects. This is the seventh arrest in connection to this case.
The New Orleans Police Department arrested Monique Pepe, 19, for allowing suspect Shawn Scott to hide out at her home. She is charged with Accessory After the Fact of Attempted Second Degree Murder, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Heroin, and Possession with the Intent to Distribute Cocaine.
Shawn Scott, 24, and his brother Akein Scott, 19, are accused of injuring 19 people during a shooting at a Mother’s Day Second Line Parade. The two are believed to be members of the Frenchman and Derbigny Boys gang.
Four additional individuals have already been charged for various level of involvement in harboring Akein Scott. They include Nekia Youngblood, 32, Bionca Hickerson, 22, Brandy George, 28, and Justin Alexander, 19. They were all charged with Accessory After the Fact of Attempted Second-Degree Murder and Relative to Obstruction of Justice by Harboring a Fugitive.
