BREAUX BRIDGE, LA — A 41-year-old woman was arrested after she allegedly attempted to smuggle prohibited contraband to an inmate.

The St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office reports that Denise Songy of Breaux Bridge was taken into custody after an investigation revealed that she tried to bring the prohibited materials into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center.

Officials did not provide any information regarding the contents of the prohibited items.

Songy was arrested and charged with Contraband and Contraband in Penal Institutions Prohibited.
