Youngsville Attempted Child Abductions Investigation Gets Leads
July 31, 2014 — Youngsville Police say they have strong leads on the two child abduction attempts on Sunday and the 22nd of July. One of the leads has resulted from investigators interviewing all convicted sex offenders within a five mile radius of where the incidents took place.
More evidence has arose from additional surveillance from the same area where the assailant's truck was last seen. Officers say they still do not have enough evidence to determine if the two attempted kidnapping cases are any way involved with one another.
The first attempt took place on July 22nd when a man drove up next to a 6 year old girl and asked her to get into his vehicle and the second attempt took place this past Sunday when a 10 year old girl screamed and ran away when a man tried to force her into his light colored truck.
Neither child was hurt and investigators say this is still very much an open case.
