Getting to know your Cane Cutters: James Ziegler

KADN Staff
Tuesday, July 22, 2014 - 2:38pm

Baseball action goes on during the hot Summer days in Acadiana....With the Acadiana Cane Cutters in the Texas Collegiate League. The team is comprised of all college players mainly from the south Louisiana area representing colleges like the UL Ragin Cajuns, LSU Tigers, Mcneese Cowboys plus Ole Miss, Arizona and others....

And tonight we continue our series of "meet the Cane Cutter player". It's a player from out in Chandler, Arizona....Take a look at starting outfielder for the Cutters, James Ziegler a fan favorite out at the ball yard of Fabacher Field in Youngsville.

"My name is James Ziegler, I play baseball for Chandler Gilbert Community College in Arizona. I love being a Cane Cutter. We have fun you know, because we are a lively group. All of us come from different parts of the country and different schools, but we all have fun. We come out to the yard everyday, play hard and joke around."

"You can hear us in the dugout and it's a great atmosphere for the kids. A bunch of bouncy houses and stuff we like to play on. It's a great atmosphere and I would tell everybody in Lafayette to come on down and watch."

Since last week's game was rained out, there is a make up date this Saturday for the bobble head night. Former STM, LSU and Chicago White Sox player Lyle Mouton will be at Fabacher Field giving out his bobble head and autographs to the first 400 fans at the Acadiana Cane Cutter and Woodland Texas game this Saturday at 7pm.
