BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — LSU had already lost two of its starters for the rest of the season. Today, it lost a third.
Les Miles announced today, Wednesday, Sept. 12, that Tahj Jones is one of five players who will have to sit for the rest of the year. Jones was going to be a starting linebacker, but sat out the Tigers' first 2 games, reportedly for academic issues.
Miles refused to discuss the reasons Jones can't play, but said backups Tyler Edwards, DJ Welter, and Evan Washington will also have to miss the season. On top of that, Jordan Allen will sit out the rest of 2012 with an injury.
The Tigers were already missing two players because of injuries. And of course, Tyrann Mathieu with his suspension.
