Ragin’ Cajuns complete first full-contact scrimmage
J.L. Boudrie — On Wednesday The Ragin’ Cajuns completed their eighth practice of the fall camp, which was on the heels of their first two-a-day practice.
Not only was this their first two-a-day practice, but it also marked the first full-contact scrimmage of the 23-day preseason. During the scrimmage, the offense got off to an auspicious start, thrashing the defense for the entire first half. However, the defense stormed back, dominating the second half as well as the ensuing goal line scrimmage to ensure victory.
After meeting with coach Hudspeth, the losing team departed to run sprints, while the winners received frosty PowerAde in the Moncla indoor football facility.
Following the varsity scrimmage, freshmen and new comers held a scrimmage of their own, giving them an opportunity to deepen their knowledge of both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball.
