Northwest Raiders Juniors Looking to Take Next Step

Opelousas, LA (KADN)- The Northwest Raiders learned on the fly last season with a team full of sophomores. Chris Edwards’ team finished 5-5 and lost in the second round of the playoffs to Lake Charles College Prep. At times Northwest looked too far ahead on the schedule instead of the game and the play in front of them. This season they plan to remedy those mistakes and also limit big plays.

“I think so,” coach Edwards said. “We’ve always been a good football team. We haven’t dominated like we have in years. Last year was a so-so year. We have a tough pre-district schedule and if we come out of that thing healthy man I think we have a good shot of winning the district.”

Northwest begins the season September 6th against the defending state champion Eunice Bobcats.
