Happy Mardi Gras! We have great weather in store for all your celebrations today! After dealing with fog through the morning hours, Acadiana will see dry and war conditions later in the day. At times, clouds will build overhead, but we should see a lot of sunshine. Highs reach right around 70° this afternoon with a cool breeze out of the north. Overnight, a much stronger front rolls through and this will drop temperatures quickly down into the 40s. Winds begin to pick up after midnight with a stray shower possible along the front.
Today: Sun and clouds mixed. Mild. High: 70°
Tonight: Clouds build. A stray shower is possible after midnight. Turning much colder and breezy. Low: 45°
Ash Wednesday: Clearing skies. Cold and windy. Wind gusts will likely exceed 25 mph. High: 55°
Ash Wednesday will see cold air returning to Acadiana. Clouds will be around through the early part of the day before things clear out. Winds will gust over 20 mph throughout the day and temperatures will struggle to reach the mid 50s. Overnight, a light freeze is expected all the way to the coast with frost possible throughout the area. Thursday will be another cold day before a gradual warm-up begins. Thursday night will once again see 30s across the area, but it will be the last night of really cold air. Dry weather continues through the end of the week and weekend, with a lot of sunshine. Clouds return late in the day Sunday. Temperatures once again reach 70° Sunday and climb above that on Monday with a few isolated showers possible.
