A cold front will move into the area on Tuesday and that will kick off showers and thunderstorms across Acadiana. Temperatures will warm into the mid-70s by the afternoon. The front will be slow to move through as it loses upper level support. It will stagger down to the coast and keep us in the clouds and rain for many days this week. Temperatures will fall behind the front, but showers will linger even with the colder air. Midweek highs will be in the upper 50s. Overnight low will get pretty chilly later in the week once we finally get a new northerly push to clear the front from the area. This looks to happen overnight Thursday and into Friday morning. 30s will be likely all across the area Friday morning with clearing skies in the afternoon. Starting off Saturday, we’ll see more 30s but lots of sunshine. Saturday looks to be th enicest day of the next 7 days. By Sunday, return flow comes back to Acadiana bringing in warmer temperatures and a chance at a stray shower.
