Acadiana Law Enforcement beefed up its ranks today as 20 cadets graduated from the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office’s latest law enforcement training academy class.
The officers will go on to serve in the Iberia and Lafayette Sheriff’s Office. The Lafayette Office of Juvenile Justice and Police Departments in Ville Platte, Scott and Crowley.
ALETA instructor Michael Allelo believes that the graduating class will
“Obviously 15 weeks later it’s amazing to see them graduate. They show up really not knowing anything and by the time they are done, they are almost ready to hit the road. They still have a lot more training to do but it’s a tough 14 weeks close to 550 academic hours they put in so it’s pretty impressive,”
Today’s class was the 159th to graduate from the training academy.
