LAFAYETTE, LA – Join Vitalant and America’s Cajun Navy for a replenishment blood drive for Camden Bernard. The blood drive will take place at Cowboys, 207 N. Ambassador Caffery, on June 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A $15 monetary credit will be sent to Camden’s open hospital bill for each pint of blood donated at this blood drive. Your donation will also help with overall blood availability for patients in need this summer. All donors are encouraged to wear orange in support of Leukemia awareness.
Stick around after you donate for America’s Cajun Navy fundraiser. There will be food, bands, auctions, fun jumps, face painting and more! The fundraiser will take place from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Cowboys.
The summer months see a 20 percent decline in blood donations. However, with increased activity and travel comes an increase in the need for blood in hospitals. All blood types are needed and are important especially type O, which is most transfused in emergency situations.
“We are proud to support Camden and to support the efforts of America’s Cajun Navy,” said Mitzi Breaux, Marketing and Communication Manager with Vitalant. “We hope you are able to help Camden by giving blood and stick around for the fun activities planned by America’s Cajun Navy.”
