Armed Robbery and Narcotics in Broussard

Broussard, September 10, 2018:  On Sunday, September 09, 2018 at approximately 09:15 A.M. the Broussard Police Department responded to an armed robbery in progress at a residence.  Officers learned that two black male suspects forced their way into a residence and stole cash and car keys.  The two suspects then fled in the victim’s vehicle which was later recovered in Lafayette.  The two suspects are described as black males wearing hooded sweatshirts, gloves, pants, and masks.  One had a dark complexion and one was lighter.  Both were tall, and each were armed with handguns.

While Investigators began to process the crime scene, the victim fell ill requiring medical treatment so he was transported to a local hospital.  While the victim was at the hospital, investigators discovered evidence of a separate crime inside of the residence, so a search warrant was obtained and executed which revealed the following contraband:

A US currency counting machine, small baggies, 500 glass tubes, 750 cork stoppers, and a safe.  47 grams of marijuana, 194 vials of Hashish, 156 vials of liquid THC with a total street value of $55,000.  Also located and seized was $14,460.00 in US currency which was hidden in various places in the residence. The original victim identified as Cody Gary (w/m 21 YOA of New Iberia) left the hospital is now wanted on the following charges:

Possession with intent to distribute marijuana, Possession of drug paraphernalia and Transactions involving drug proceeds.
