Acadiana dodged the bullet with today’s severe threat, but look at it as a practice drill for our next threat coming midweek.
A beautiful Sunday on tap with clouds clearing and cooler afternoon highs right around 70 degrees. Clear skies will make way for chilly overnight temps in the upper 40s by Monday morning. We’ll carry sunshine into Monday and Tuesday but winds will turn in a southerly direction, gradually warming our temps to the norm. Mid 70s by Monday afternoon and upper 70s by Tuesday afternoon.
An approaching storm system will bring showers and possibly strong to severe storms Wednesday and Thursday. The Storm Prediction Center has already outlined the majority of the state under a Slight Risk. Despite dodging the bullet last weekend and this weekend, this advanced warning should not be taken lightly. The risk level and impacts will become more fine tuned next week… stay tuned.
