Another gloomy day is expected today with mostly cloudy skies. A few patches of sunshine are possible but not likely. Showers, and possibly a rumble of thunder, are likely through the day today. Temperatures will warm into the mid 70s this afternoon. A cold front will approach from the north through the evening and struggle to push down to the coast overnight. Behind it, cooler air will work its way into Acadiana, but rain chances will stick around.
Today: Mostly cloudy. Hit/miss showers. Warm. High: 75°
Tonight: Showers likely. Turning cooler late. Breezy. Low: 53°
Wednesday: Overcast. Chilly and rainy. Many dry breaks. High: 58°
The cold front stalls along the coast and adds extra lift to the atmosphere which will kick off hit/miss showers on Wednesday. Upper level energy moves through overnight Wednesday and into Thursday which will create a cold, steady rain around the area. Temperatures Wednesday through the end of the week will be in the 50s, with Thursday being the chilliest day thanks to the clouds and rain. Drier air rolls in Friday afternoon which will break the clouds up and cut off rain chances. Friday and Saturday mornings will start off in the 30s, with patchy frost possible Saturday morning. Saturday will see sun-filled skies and afternoon highs near 60. The warmer air returns Sunday with a chance at showers returning overnight Sunday and into Monday.
