Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards is taking the first steps in getting the state back open for business from the COVID-19 pandemic, but he said that doesn’t mean people should forget about the threat.

Louisiana surpassed the 22,000 mark in coronavirus cases this week.

State health officials are reporting 1,213 Louisianians have died of COVID-19. The state hit the 1,000 mark in deaths earlier this week.

According to one database, Louisiana ranks ninth in the country for the number of cases. It is fifth in the nation for the number of COVID-19 deaths.

Health officials said 1,868 COVID-19 patients in Louisiana remain in hospitals. Of that number, 363 patients are on ventilators.

Previous(April 13, 2020)  As of Monday, April 13, 2020, According to the Louisiana Department of Health, Louisiana now has 21, 016 confirmed cases of COVID-19, (Coronavirus) cases across the state and 884 deaths reported.

There are 2,134 patients hospitalized, 461 of those patients are on ventilators. 64 of 64 parishes with reported cases.

LOUISIANA -According to the Louisiana Department of Health Louisiana now has 20,014 confirmed cases of COVID-19, (Coronavirus) cases across the state and 806 deaths reported.

Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards is advising residents to not let up on social distancing measures ahead of Easter weekend, warning that the state could lose out on progress in fighting the coronavirus outbreak.

LOUISIANA -According to the Louisiana Department of Health Louisiana now has 19,253 confirmed cases of COVID-19, (Coronavirus) cases across the state and 755 deaths reported.

Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards is advising residents to not let up on social distancing measures ahead of Easter weekend, warning that the state could lose out on progress in fighting the coronavirus outbreak.

The Acadiana Region has a total of 977 confirmed cases of COVID-19, (Coronavirus) and 37 deaths as of April 10, 2020 at 12 noon according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

Here’s a list of the parishes in Acadiana with confirmed cases of COVID-19, (Coronavirus) and deaths as of April 10, 2020 at 12 noon: Acadia 94; 4 deaths, Evangeline 35, Iberia 121; 5 deaths,  Jeff Davis 32; 2 deaths, Lafayette 330 ; 12 deaths, St. Landry 103; 6 deaths, St. Martin 140; 6 deaths, St. Mary 100; 1 death, Vermilion 22; 1 death.

There are 2,054 patients hospitalized and 479 of those patients are on ventilators.
