Cruise Ship Docks in New Orleans; Infected Staying on Board

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — The Louisiana governor’s office says hundreds of Carnival cruise ship workers who have tested negative for the coronavirus disease have disembarked in New Orleans and are returning to their home countries. The Carnival Valor didn’t have passengers when it arrived to its home port Wednesday night. Gov. John Bel Edwards says 300 international crew members without symptoms of the COVID-19 disease were being bused to charter flights that would take them to their home countries. Edwards says other crew members who have tested positive will stay on the cruise ship. He says if any later require hospitalization, they’ll be sent to New Orleans hospitals.
