Early Voting for the Presidential Primary and Municipal Primary Underway

Early voting for the Presidential Primary and Municipal Primary are taking place but there are new guidelines and precautions.

News15 spoke with the Lafayette Voters Registrar on changes that have been made due to COVID-19 safety precautions, and what voters can expect.

In Lafayette, voters can visit the Registrar of Voters office Monday through Saturday from 8:30AM until 6PM. Voters are asked to bring their own masks and pens.

“Voting commissioners across the state are also taking extra precautions to keep everyone safe by wearing gowns, masks, face shields and gloves.” Voters who are at severe risk for COVID-19, quarantined, displaying symptoms, or caring for someone who’s susceptible for the Coronavirus may request absentee ballots.
