Eunice Man Arrested for Vehicle Fire

ST. LANDRY PARISH –  The State Fire Marshal’s Office (SFM) has arrested a Eunice man for setting his mother’s vehicle on fire. Linus Allison, Jr., 25, was booked into the Acadia Parish Jail on one count of Simple Arson. He was also booked by the St. Landry Sheriff’s Office for one count of Theft of a Motor Vehicle in connection with this case. In the early morning hours of May 12, the Eunice Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire in the 500 block of Buckhorn Drive. After SFM deputies were called to investigate, an assessment of the scene determined the fire was intentionally set.
Deputies learned the owner of the vehicle, Allison, Jr.’s mother, had reported the vehicle stolen because her son had taken it without permission. Through investigative efforts, evidence was obtained confirming Allison, Jr. as a suspect in the case. St. Landry Sheriffs Office deputies located Allison, Jr. and took him into custody for the theft. Following an interview with State Fire Marshal’s deputies, a warrant in connection with the fire was obtained and Allison, Jr. was rebooked into the St. Landry Parish Jail.
