First Confirmed Case of COVID-19 in Vermilion Parish

VERMILION PARISH – The Mayor Of Kaplan has confirmed the first case of COVID-19, (Coronavirus) in Vermilion Parish in a post on Facebook according to Vermilion Parish Police Juror, Wayne Touchet.

According to the Mayor of Kaplan, the case was confirmed to by the Vermilion Parish Office of Emergency Preparedness a few minutes before 9:00 a.m.

We knew this time period was coming. Let’s just keep doing what we’re doin. Social distancing, washing hands, and staying away from places that we don’t need to be at, says Mayor of Kaplan.”
