St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office narcotics agents arrested five men Wednesday morning after receiving complaints of drug use at a Cecilia home.
According to a SMPSO spokesman, agents received reports of suspected illegal drug activity at a residence in the 1600 block of Grand Anse Road, Cecilia. After getting a search warrant for the residence, agents and S.W.A.T. team members raided the home. Inside, they found five men in possession of narcotics, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and drug packaging materials.
Two of the men also had warrants for an outside agency.
Arrested were Cabe Matthew Duplechien, 24, of Lafayette, on charges of possession of a Schedule II narcotic, possession of drug paraphernalia, and an outside warrant for another agency; Devin James Artigue, 27, Breaux Bridge on charges of possession of a Schedule II narcotic, possession of drug paraphernalia, and keeping a disorderly place; Coty Joseph Bergeron, 26, Breaux Bridge, possession of a Schedule II narcotic, simple possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and an outside warrant for another agency; Devin William Victor, 26, Lafayette, one count of simple possession of marijuana; and Jeremy Maceo Mouton, 23, Lafayette, possession with intent to distribute a Schedule I narcotic and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Following their arrests, they were all booked in the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center. No bond had been set.
