Numerous spots in Acadiana received 1-3 inches of rain today, with localized spots receiving 5+ inches of rain in north Vermilion Parish. Unfortunately, we have more opportunities for rain the next 5 days…which means we will have to monitor for localized flash flood issues due to soils now being saturated.
A series of cold fronts on the way will bring a drastic change to our temperatures in Acadiana. Break out the heavy winter weather wardrobe by Friday.
Tonight: Hit/miss thunderstorms through 2AM. Localized flash flood risk.
Tomorrow: Mostly cloudy. 30-40% for a few showers. Highs: 68-74.
Friday: Strong cold front rolls in. Temperatures falling throughout the day with intermittent light/moderate showers. Highs in the 50s!! Overnight lows will plummet into the mid 40s Friday night with a stiff northwest wind.
Saturday: Nicest day of the next 5. Partly cloudy & COLD! Highs in the low-middle 50s. Lows in the mid 40s.
Another storm system with re-enforcing cold front arrives Sunday-Monday…which means high rain chances & more cold temperatures. Possible frost/freeze by next Tuesday-Wednesday nights
