Frank Andrews, who served as the chief of police in Duson for 5 years, died Friday morning. He was 52 years old.
According to current Chief of Police Kip Judice, officers responded to a call around 9 a.m. at Andrew’s residence in the 100 block of Rena Drive in Duson. When officers arrived, they found Andrew in his bed. No foul play is expected.
An investigation into the cause of death is pending.
Andrews served as a police officer in Duson for 10 years before assuming the role of chief in 2009, after former chief Joseph Johnfore was removed after an investigation into missing funds. Andrew served as chief until 2014.
He is survived by a host of brothers and sisters, as well as a 6-year-old son.
“Prayers are being offered by the Duson Police Department, chief and staff to the family,” Judice said. “Frank’s 15 years of service to the Duson community are not forgotten.”
Funeral arrangements are pending.
