French Immersion School Looking For State Charter

After disagreements with the St. Landry Parish School Board, a proposed french immersion school in Sunset may be looking to the state to open.

Stephen Ortego, who is one of the founders of the school, says the board is trying to limit its enrollments to 30 students. He tells News-15 they need more students to succeed as a school… adding there are already 85 parents who want to sign their kids up. Now, they plan to go to the board of elementary and secondary education in Baton Rouge and request a type-2 charter to open in 2019.
