New Iberia, LA (KADN)  —  Peter LeBlanc is off to Super Dome with the Ragin’ Cajuns football team. That’s where his high school football team’s season ended with a loss in the state title game.  Meanwhile, his former teammates back in New Iberia,  are trying to fight their way back to a state title.  The Panthers have four starters back on offense including quarterback Trey Amos and seven more on defense.  The cupboard isn’t bare, but it is a fresh start.

“We don’t have many guys back and sometimes that’s a good thing in terms of being hungry,” Panther head coach Brent Indest said.  “We want to continue that tradition. We’ve been to the finals three out of the last five years and it would be nice to do it four out of six.”

Indest pointed out his Panthers could easily start the season (0-3) if they don’t come out strong. To start the season,  they play Vermilion Catholic,  Breaux Bridge, and Barbe.
