Hope ya’ll are enjoying your Friday. I’m working a double so clearly I’m having a great Friday… no really, I am!! Nightside crew is awesome and I didn’t have any Friday night plans anyway!
Weather has quieted down this evening and not expecting much action for the rest of the night. Tomorrow morning will be quiet as well but with all that instability and moisture in the atmosphere, throw in that daytime heating and showers and storms will fire off once again! Heavy rainfall, lightning and gusty winds possible. Best timing will be during the late morning into the afternoon hours. Rain chances will decrease as the sun sets. Same on Sunday but with less coverage area! It’s going to be hot! Heat index values in the triple digits, so a cooling downpour may not be such a bad thing! Daily chances for afternoon showers continue next week.
*Tropics* Invest 99L now has an increased chance for development as it moves west northwest at 10-15 mph towards to the East Coast. 48 hours: 40%, 5 days: 60%. The good news is, models consistently agree that it will stay off shore and turn north. Those on the east coast should still monitor. Won’t affect us here! Next name up on the list is Gert.
Have a good weekend! I’ll be sending out another weather update tomorrow because ya’ll love them so much and because I’m working!
