A HEAT ADVISORY is now in effect for Acadiana. With temperatures climbing into the low-to-mid 90s today and a lot of muggy air, it will feel more like 105° to 110° this afternoon, which is can easily cause dehydration and heat exhaustion. A few showers and thunderstorms will try to perk up later this afternoon. This will probably be the best chance of rain for the next few days as we begin to heat up even more and dry out.
Today: Hot and humid. Scattered PM storms. Feeling like 105°. High: 92°
Tonight: Partly cloudy. Very muggy. Low: 76°
Thursday: Hot. Isolated afternoon storms. Feeling like 107°. High: 93°
The heat continues to build into the weekend,, with only a few cooling showers around. Temperatures will be in the mid 90s, but the heat index, or feels like temperature, will range from 105° to 110°. This may prompt a few heat advisories to be issued. So find ways to stay cool with this heat! The tropics continue to be quiet.
