Lafayette Fire Chief Robert Benoit hosted his peers in the Fire Service from around the country today, at the Lafayette Parish training. This was the first day of a three day leadership and coaching academy. The International Association of Fire Chiefs event includes seminars and mentoring sessions.
Lafayette Fire Department Fire Chief Robert P. Benoit says he hopes all jurisdictions learn something from the event, and take it back to their community.
“The goal is for them is to take information here, bring it back to their jurisdictions, and share that information with their other leaders. The issues and the problems that we face are the same, and as a formula or a blueprint if you will, to sort of speak to help you understand how to maneuver into that system and make sure it’s very successful.”
The Louis F. Babin Institute of Fire Training will host a graduation ceremony for graduates of this academy in October.
