The Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that claimed the life of a Jeanerette man. The Iberia Parish Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 22-year-old Noah Olivier. According to Maj. Wendall Raborn, deputies responded to the incident at around 6:30pm, Wednesday, in the 3500 block of Olivier Road (south of Jeanerette). Arriving deputies found a large group of people in the driveway of the home who directed deputies to an Olivier, who was laying on the ground. Olivier appeared to have a gunshot wound to the chest. Deputies administered emergency first aid but were unable to save him. Oliver was pronounced dead on the scene. Maj. Raborn says they are questioning a person of interest and the investigation is still active. Anyone with information can call Iberia Crime Stoppers at 369-TIPS.
