Jeff Davis Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Tier 1 sex offender Tuesday February 26, 2019 for failure to register his residency. Mario David Mata, 32, last known address 806 Bryan street Jennings was arrested and booked into the parish jail for failure to register his change of address. Mata reported he was living in a small metal building at 806 Bryan street, Jennings. Deputies assigned to the Sex offender Watch program discovered that Mata was not living at the Bryan street address and the building had been moved. Deputies received information that Mata had moved to a location in Evangeline. Mata was located and arrested yesterday on an outstanding warrant for Failure to register LSA R.S. 15:542.1.4. He is being held in the parish jail with no bond.
Patrol deputies located an abandoned vehicle on the overpass at Hwy 395 and Interstate 10 at approximately 5:00 am this morning. The vehicle was unoccupied and locked. The vehicle was registered to a used car dealership in Lake Charles. Deputies resumed patrol and a short time later discovered a truck had pulled up to the vehicle. When deputies approached the vehicle they found one of the individuals was wanted by Acadia parish S.O. for warrants. Queling Curtis Duhon, 41, of 712 Lucy Street, Jennings was booked for Possession of Schedule II and Illegal use of Controlled drug. Duhon is being held with no bond for extradition to Acadia parish.
