On November 27, 2018 the Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office received a complaint regarding a theft of firearms. A patrol deputy responded to a camp located on Highway 99 in Welsh and began an investigation. The investigation revealed that a burglary had occurred in which firearms had been taken.
The investigation was then turned over to the Investigations Division. Detectives were able to recover firearms that had been pawned by Hunter Quarles. Detectives, on November 30, 2018 obtained an arrest warrant for Hunter Quarles, age 22 of Lake Charles. The warrant was issued for simple burglary and three counts of theft of a firearm.
Today, December 06, 2018, Hunter Quarles turned himself in to detectives. Quarles was arrested without incident and booked into the Jeff Davis Parish Jail. He has been charged with Simple Burglary, 3 counts of Theft of a Firearm. Bond is set at $50,000
