METAIRIE (WDSU)- The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s office says a Thursday morning SWAT roll ended with the discovery of two bodies. The incident is now considered a murder-suicide.
Sheriff Joe Lopinto says the SWAT roll was ordered after a man called 911 threatening suicide and then hung up. The man was barricaded inside a home on the 6900 block of Asher Street in Metairie with his wife.
A negotiator could be heard over a loud speaker saying: “We are concerned about you. We are concerned about your wife. ”
A SWAT team robot was used to enter the house and found the bodies of a man and woman. Lopinto says both were shot.
The names of the man and woman have not been released.
