After a brief hiatus, The Krewe Des Chiens Parade is ready to roll …or trot… yet again.
The dog parade started back in 1998 and took a break last year. But tomorrow afternoon dogs in colorful costumes will fill the streets of downtown lafayette. It serves as a chance for local dogs to celebrate Fat Tuesday while raising money for more than 15 animal associations across Acadiana. This year they’re adding an adoption event.
Krewe Des Chiens Parade Co-Chair says the parade is a fun way to help animals in need.
“It’s just a great way for them to get their word out message out and also bring some adoptable dogs out and hopefully get some to find a home.”
If you can’t adopt a dog watch News 15 at 6 for details on how you can still support the parade’s efforts.
