Two local attorneys in the area are fighting against the no-call incident in Sunday’s NFC Championship game between the New Orleans Saints and the Los Angeles Rams.
Attorneys Cle’ Simon of Simon Law Offices and Kevin Duck of Duck Law Firm have sent NFL Commissioner, Roger Goodell, a statement asking him to exercise his authority regarding the NFL’s rule 17, section 2, article 3 that states “the reversal of a game’s result either from the point that which the extraordinary act occurred.” This comes after Saints’ wide receiver, Michael Thomas, tweets a picture of the rule in hopes that Goodell would take action.
“So, the letter we sent to the Commissioner was actually a request for him to just do his job.”
The partners are hoping that Goodell sees their statement in hopes of some change not only to this incident, but for future incidents.
“The issue is about the integrity of the rule, and following the rule. The rule is in place for a reason and if the reason isn’t thoroughly implemented with the circumstances warranted, then what’s the point of the rule?”
Goodell has yet to make a statement.
