Lake Charles Family Seeks Justice Following Officer-Involved Shooting

The family of an African-American man shot dead by a white Lake-Charles Police officer is calling for justice after body-cam video of the fatal encounter was released this week.

The Associated Press obtained footage which shows officer Jonathan Landrum ordering 26-year-old Juston Landry to drop his weapon.
The weapon turned out to be a BB gun, but it’s believed the officer thought it looked like a semi-automatic weapon.

A grand jury has already declined to indict Landrum.

The family says Landry suffered from mental-health issues.
