LAFAYETTE – With the enactment of the Governor’s “Stay at Home” Executive Order, and after consulting LCG’s Legal Department, the April 7th Council meetings are cancelled.
The agenda items for these meetings will be rescheduled for a later date and will include those items on the Regular Parish Council Meeting, the Special Joint Meeting and the Regular City Council Meeting. Council members would like to ensure the protection and safety of the general public, administrative staff and Council members/staff. Although it has not been confirmed, the consideration is to reschedule the April 7th and April 21st meetings to April 14th and April 28th, respectively.
When deemed necessary, confirmation of any rescheduling will come at a later date, when the appropriate authorities declare that it is safe for crowds to assemble with respect to the COVID-19 pandemic. With the uncertainty on whether the Executive Order will be extended, the public will be notified when the next meeting date is confirmed. The community as a whole is asked to do their part to flatten the curve and minimize the spread of the virus.
