LOPA Hosts Virtual Walk for Heroes

LAFAYETTE – LOPA (Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency) will host a virtual Walk for Heroes on Saturday April 4, 2020 – the day our 2nd annual walk was slated to take place. While the event has been rescheduled to June 13, the virtual walk provides the opportunity for family and friends to honor their loved ones during National Donate Life Month. We encourage everyone to take a walk with their family, or on their own, this Saturday. Take pictures and/or video and post them to the LOPA Walk for Heroes Group page (https://www.facebook.com/groups/1043987849302608/) or send them to smorton@lopa.org. And guess what…there is NO COST to participate!

April is celebrated as National Donate Life Month every year. With this year being much different than years past, we want to continue to spread the life-saving message of organ and tissue donation in our community from home! Although we are unable to conduct in-person events, we still want to provide our community with opportunities to be involved and help honor our organ & tissue donors. With over 112,000 people awaiting a life-saving organ transplant in the United States, we still have a lot of work to do! Please follow LOPA on Facebook for our April campaigns celebrating our heroes and the lives they have saved.

We hope you will check out the LOPA Walk for Heroes Group
page this Saturday and use the content in your media coverage. Suzanna Morton is available for phone interviews as well. Thank you for helping us #spreadhopenotgerms during this unprecedented time.
