Louisiana joins pharmaceutical lawsuit

Louisiana has joined 40 others states in a federal lawsuit against nearly two dozen pharmaceutical companies over the price of prescriptions.

The suit accuses the drug makers of inflating their prices, driving down competition and clamping down on access to generic drugs.

According to The Advocate, Attorney General Jeff Landry says the companies’ trade practices have led to price hikes of up to one-thousand percent on some widely used pharmaceuticals.
