Lafayette police officers have a new resource for staying up to date on firearm training.
The department cut the ribbon earlier today on a new firearm training facility. The new facility is located in Breaux Bridge.
“We no longer have to borrow a facility. In the past, we’ve had to beg, borrow and steal a facility. We might have had training scheduled and it got cancelled because the agency that had the facility had something going on. So now our guys can train twenty four, seven,” says Range Master of Lafayette Police Department Paul Trouard.
The facility sits on nine acres and includes shooting ranges, classrooms and soon a half mile obstacle course will be installed.
